Having fun in the snow? You could come check out one of the many Winter Leagues offered at the Club (check the website for details). Currently there are Rifle, Skeet, and Trap Leagues.
Normally at this time of year our Pistol and Rimfire Leagues would be in full swing in the Indoor Range. Keep watch for details on those leagues after the Indoor Range opens.
The indoor Pistol Range is getting close to shooting condition. Our “target” for the first orientation would be after the February 14, 2018 membership meeting (bring your Valentine!). This is assuming there are no delays or interruptions in the work. After that Orientation, it is our intent to have other time slots available for Indoor Range Orientation with multiple instructors.
Stay warm, shoot straight, and see you on the line.
Secretary: Bob Dankiw
Onondaga County Federation is again accepting applications for scholarships. Information and forms can be obtained from their website: http://www.federationofsportsmen.com.
They are also holding a raffle for either a Remington 700 CDL 30-06 rifle or V3 12-gauge shotgun and Women-in-Nature Organization is raffling off a Ruger 10/22 takedown rifle with case. Tickets can be obtained from me or Dominick Danna. $5.00 a ticket, 2 for $10.00 or 7 for $20.00. Half of the proceed from the ticket sales go to our Club. The money will be used to fund the Youth Shotgun Program.

Winter over yet?
Indoor Range is getting heavy use and the Orientations continue during Membership times (9am-11am Tues, Thurs, Sat). Please be sure to follow the procedures and policies on all ranges at all times.

Our next big project is rebuilding the Rifle Range, which shall begin soon. We plan on rebuilding the Rifle Range to resemble the Outdoor Handgun Range renovation (concrete slab, engineered truss roof, etc.) This project should have a minimal impact on the Rifle Range use, but always make sure to check the website calendar to make sure the range you plan to use is available.

I would like to call out to all our members that are Trap shooters of all experience levels to join our Camillus CNY Summer Trap Team Tuesday nights. We compete for 20 weeks of Trapshooting for 25 targets weekly starting April 17th. We have always been on the edge of being a competitive team and all we need is MORE members on the Trap Team of all skill levels. Email clays@camillussportsmensclub.com for details.

Camillus Sportsmen’s Club WINS Onondaga County Federation of Sportsmen’s Club Award

Our Club is dedicated to supporting shooting sports, sportsmen education, firearms safety, and conservation efforts in Onondaga County and Central New York. We accomplished many objectives to support our mission in the past year. It is the club’s desire desire to change the negative perception that many hold regarding the shooting sports and outdoors sportsmen, by getting more involved with our community. This we have done, and our image is now very positive one in the community.

On April 14Th, Camillus Sportsmen’s Club was awarded Club of the Year by the Onondaga Federation of Spotrsmens Club

We are very honored and humbled to receive this award. This award could not have been earned without the numerous Club members that dedicate expertise, time and effort to make us the “Premier Sportsmen’s Club of CNY”.

On behalf of the Camillus Sportsmen’s Club Executive Board, “Thank you.”
